01 A long held dream

On Saturday 12 September 2026, Hyper Endurance Fitness, working alongside Derek Byrnes & Co, brought Community Day to People's Park in Limerick. For us this was never simply about organising an event, it was about turning a long held dream into something real.

Giving back had been an ambition of our founder for a long time, with a real desire to create something positive, bring people together and return something meaningful to the community.

When that vision finally became reality, Limerick was the natural place to bring it to life. This is where Hyper Endurance Fitness began, and creating a day for local families and children here meant a great deal to all of us.

02 A day for the community

Community Day was created as a free event where children and families could come together, get active, enjoy themselves and simply have a good day, and that is exactly what happened.

Throughout the day People's Park was filled with children running, playing, laughing, competing and meeting one another. There were healthy snacks and free drinks alongside football, hopscotch, hula hoops, shuttle relays, and boxing pads and gloves.

What made it particularly special was seeing children outside, active and playing together. In a world where so much of childhood can be spent indoors or behind a screen, watching them run across the park, make new friends and enjoy themselves was something genuinely special.

There was no pressure and no expectation to be the fastest, the strongest or the most skilled. It was simply about taking part, moving, having fun and connecting with each other.

03 A special thank you to Derek Byrnes

A huge thank you must go to Derek Byrnes, who believed in the vision behind Community Day and worked alongside Hyper Endurance Fitness to help turn it into reality.

It takes more than an idea to create something like this. It takes people who believe in the purpose behind it, who give their time and energy, and who are willing to work together to make it happen, and Derek did exactly that.

His support and alignment with the vision were incredibly important throughout the process, and we are genuinely grateful that he chose to stand alongside us and bring Community Day to the people of Limerick.

Thank you, Derek, for believing in the vision and helping us make it real.

04 The people behind the day

Community Day was made possible by 12 volunteers, our founder among them, and every one of them played a part.

Whether it was running activities, supporting families, keeping things moving or simply being there for the children throughout the day, every contribution mattered.

An event like this never comes together through one person. It comes together when people decide to give their time to something that matters.

To every volunteer who contributed, thank you. Your time, your energy and your willingness to help made a genuine difference.

05 The meaning behind the medals

One of the most emotional moments of the day was watching the children receive their medals, and the excitement on their faces as they held a medal that said Winner has stayed with us ever since.

A medal that said Winner, and meant it

To an adult it might look like a small gesture, but to a child it can mean something entirely different. It can mean recognition, achievement and feeling proud of yourself, and perhaps most importantly it can be a reminder that you are capable of achieving something.

Society can sometimes make us feel as though we are not worthy of being called winners, and we do not believe that.

We believe every person has something within them worthy of recognition, and every child deserves the chance to experience achievement, encouragement and pride in themselves. Seeing those smiles made that message feel very real.

06 Giving back to Limerick

There was something particularly significant about bringing this event to Limerick. This is where Hyper Endurance Fitness began and the city is part of our story, so giving something back to its people was an honour.

Proud of every minute of it

As we discussed in our interview with What's the Story, Community Day represented something bigger than one afternoon in the park, because it showed what can happen when people come together around a shared purpose.

Giving back has always had an important place in the journey we all lead, and community is not built through words alone, it is built through action.

07 A day we will remember

Speaking on behalf of Hyper Endurance Fitness, the experience was emotional, to say the least.

Looking around People's Park and seeing children playing football, hitting the boxing pads, racing through relays, playing hopscotch and hula hooping while their families enjoyed the day together was uplifting, meaningful and a privilege to be part of.

What began as a long held dream became a real day, shared by real families and children in the city where Hyper Endurance Fitness first began, and that is something we will always be grateful for.

08 Thank you, Limerick

To every family who came along, thank you. To every child who took part, thank you for the energy, the excitement and the smiles that made the day what it was.

To all 12 volunteers, thank you for giving your time and playing your part. To Derek Byrnes, thank you for believing in the vision and working alongside us to bring it to life. And to everyone else who supported Community Day in any way, we are truly grateful.

It was an honour to bring this experience to Limerick. We look forward to the future and to the possibility of giving back on an even greater scale through future projects, because for us giving back is not something to talk about, it is something to act on.

Thank you, Limerick
